Three Years And Ten Years

It’s that time again. I have been regularly posting to this location on the interwebs for three years. This year, however, I’ll not be giving out an Amazon gift card to a random member of my loyal readership as I have done on previous occasions.

Over the last few days I have read a fair amount about the events of 9/11, watched footage, felt the horror once again as human beings plunged hundreds of feet to their deaths as they attempted to escape from burning buildings. The emotions of that day and more are still present in me–and I don’t know that I shall ever see the world as I did before that time. I was a not a young man on 9/11, yet I feel as though I have grown far older in the last 10 years than the calendar would warrant.

In our sorrow for what we have lost (friends and neighbors, innocence, freedom, financial value, etc) let us not forget that we still have much for which to be thankful and much which is still worth fighting for.
