What I’m reading: Fastidious

http://fastidious.wordpress.com/, that is. The eponymous blog of Fastidious and her husband, Cosbysweater08, which offers excellent conservative insight from West-of-the-River (If you’re already a reader of theirs then you probably recognize their characteristic format in the title of this post).

After their warm welcome of me to the blogosphere I began visiting their site. I haven’t missed a post since. Fastidious and Cosbysweater are a tag-team of principled and reasoned commentators disecting the issues of  the day.  If you want to know the ‘why’ behind the ‘what’ then I encourage you to add them to your regular reads.  It is well worth your time.

  1. Andrew,
Thank you for the kind words. I also enjoy reading CC, much more for the principles espoused here than for any “report on the news,” as some other sites seem all to willing to post.
I am currently, and maybe too thouroughly, composing a lengthy bit on the “health care reform” issue (again), and I would encourage you to keep checking for that. When so much work is put into a post, it is difficult not to be prideful, yet I’ve been attempting to keep the argument outside of any one person – the issue is bigger than us.
I mention that because I see a lot of that same type of thinking in this site. From the “About” page on, I usually emphasize the points being made with a nod or a “right on.” This is atypical for one who is used to watching Democrats and Republicans alike bicker over an issue, all the while buying into a false premise. (A 300 billion dollar bailout vs. an 800 billion dollar bailout – really?)
But here, I can find like minds and a bit of solace.
    Keep up the good work.

  2. Hey,

Should I bring a keg to our mutual admiration party? 😉

Seriously, thanks for the kind words! Constant Conservative is a must read for us, too!

I do wish that I had the concisity (yeah, I’m making that a word) that you folks seem have with language. Where I use ten words to make a point, the two of you will use five. So, in addition to enjoying the principled conservatism in your posts, I just adore the precise writing.

  3. Cosby and Fasti,

I realize you are replying to Andrew’s post, but I’d like to say “Thank you” as well, both for your own thoughtful contributions to the discussion and your vocal support of this site.

Here’s to a future rife with principled, precise declarations of the truth. (ka-clink)
