Web we weave when first we practice to deceive. While all pertinent information has not yet come to light, it would appear as though Speaker Pelosi has completely lost the threads of her weaving. Jay Reding echoes the thoughts of a friend of mine:
Rep. Pelosi has ended up making a laughingstock of herself—her desperate attempts to backpedal from her own words are Clintonian in audacity without the skill of Slick Willy. Even the mainstream press has caught on.
At present, Mrs. Pelosi’s inability to keep her story straight (and an apparent positioning by Stony Hoyer to stand clear if she comes crashing down) would leave one thinking that her time as one of the leaders of the “most honest, most open, and most ethical Congress in history” may be coming to a close.
While lies are often powerful, truth is more powerful yet–even in the midst of the confusing, muddled, post-modern relativism that many find so essential to modern existance.
