I appreciate Mr. Lawrenson’s letter to the Argus, but the following particularly stood out for me:
An amendment was put forward that any new health care plan also should include members of Congress. Ten of 13 Democratic members of the subcommittee voted “no.” Nine of the 10 Republicans voted “yes.” The only Republican on the subcommittee to vote against it said the new bill is so bad that it should not be forced on anybody. Perhaps that is why Democrats rejected it for themselves.
Self-interests almost always come into play, don’t they?
