Why Be Thankful: 4

We are still the country of opportunity, even for those whom many would consider legitimate candidates for personal bailouts:

“I am writing to you to share my story of how one can survive hard times and land solidly on one’s feet…

So here goes: My husband had an auto accident on 1 January 2005, and our lives and finances changed dramatically. Our income was cut in half as he has permanent injuries, and went from being a field officer to a desk job in a less fast paced career…”

Go, read, and then be thankful (as am I) that we too may survive in times of adversity, because as individuals, we are still recipients of the freedom to go where we will and do what we need to do in this country to make the best of what we have.

    Jennifer,
May you and yours have a blessed Thanksgiving. Thank you for sharing your story with Michelle (and all the rest of us). What an encouragement to know some have not forgotten old-fashioned principles.

Why NOT be thankful? In this day of uncertainty and horrible prospects, may we take a moment to thank the Almighty for the gift of life and the ability to make a difference in the life of those around us; may our gracious God bless and forward the thoughts and intentions of all who live in His will. Happy Thanksgiving!

    Marie,
It was a statement, a brief form of “why I should be thankful.” I second the content of your comment. May you also have a blessed Thanksgiving.

It is indeed a great thing to remember to be thankful. For so many things. I found your site from Michelle’s, where I also found and visited Jennifer’s blog. I’m thankful for that. Self-reliance is one of the keys to having a conservative mindset, I think.

Have a happy Thanksgiving, and I’ll be back to read more here.
