Next Steps for Conservatives
We stand up for our principles, as we always have — through Democrat administrations and Republican administrations, in bear markets or bull markets, in peacetime and wartime.
We stay positive and focused.
We keep the faith.
We do not apologize for our beliefs. We do not re-brand them, re-form them, or relinquish them. We defend them.
We pay respect to the office of the presidency. We count our blessings and recommit ourselves to our constitutional republic.
We gird our loins, to borrow a phrase from our Vice President-elect.
We lock and load our ideological ammunition.
We fight.

Update
I’ve added a few more thoughts which are germane to the future of conservatism here and here.

Amen, Michelle Malkin! Tomorrow is another day, yesterday wasn’t all that bad. I hate to do it, but quoting Ted Kennedy: “The hope still lives, the cause endures, and the dream shall never die.”

Charles,
Truth is truth–no matter who says it. It’s time for some truth telling within conservatism.

Well effin said. MM’s the bomb. I want to believe that Obama won’t be as bad as some people think, but I’m quite sure, that at best, he won’t be as good as most people hope he will be.
I wish this site had come out earlier, I had some Obamabot friends finding out that they had big differences with Obama’s positions:

Years ago I was knocked off the voting rolls here in this very Blue City when I was a Republican, on election day I found out I was knocked off as an Un-Affiliated. Next time I should register as a Democrat, I bet I won’t get knocked off then.
The biggest dangers come from the Left anyway, my votes in this Blue State’s closed primaries would be more important there.
Telling Moonbats I’m a Democrat would stop some in their tracks too, maybe making it easier to chip away at the false veneer of so-called ‘progressivism’.
Let’s hope he does well, at least not too badly, with the least amount of despair possible. May God Bless and help guide President Obama. And may God Bless and save America! Keep the faith!

USspace,
No one who has been elevated as much as Obama can meet up with those expectations. I believe that Democrats, particularly those who consider themselves moderates will soon find themselves with an chronic case of buyer’s remorse.
Just remember that calling folks moonbats does tend to make further conversation with them difficult. Those of us who are conservatives (regardless of party affiliation) must ensure that we focus on issues, and drive home the historical and current basis for why we believe what we believe.
